Genie is a fast-rising multi-hyphenate among millenials. In 2015, he won the Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship from the Television Academy Foundation. In 2016, while completing his Master’s Degree, Genie directed his thesis documentary, “Jihad in Hollywood,” which screened at worldwide film festivals in Albania, Vancouver, Kuwait, and the Oscar-qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival.

Genie lives in Los Angeles, with his wife Amanda and pitbull Blue. He has worked with NBCUniversal, HGTV, and The Africa Channel to name a few. Genie is a director and producer for various brands, and is currently working with the Grotto Network, Indasoul Entertainment, and YouTube.


Genie Deez is an award winning filmmaker. A Renaissance Man, he produces regular content on his YouTube channel, and directs documentary film and digital media.

During his undergraduate studies, Genie double majored while attending the University of Notre Dame and holds a degree in Marketing from the nation’s top-ranked Mendoza College of Business. Genie also studied Film and Television history while at Notre Dame. Afterward, he was accepted into another top-ranked program: The University of Southern California Film School, where he completed the Film and Television Production Program. While at USC, Genie fell in love with producing documentary film, and deems it “the most honest form of storytelling.”
