Genie began his career in entertainment as a traveling magician. By age 12 he toured with a Vaudeville Troupe performing original magic acts for festival audiences. Also at age 12, his father was ordained a minister, and hence Genie took to the organ and began directing choirs and performing for various Gospel artists. Genie cultivated his skills, both magical and musical, and by the time he made it to college, hosted multiple events annually throughout his hometown.
At his core, he's a kid --still able to grasp an appreciation for magic, awe, and the power of music. But ultimately, these are things we all have in common: an inner kid waiting to burst out if only they stumbled across a laugh, a song, a magic trick.
Genie recently completed his Masters Degree at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, where he studied producing and directing from the industry's leading professionals. Although he concentrates on producing, Genie is a proficient film director, editor, special effects artist, animator, composer, and writer. Because of these strong technical skills, he is able to manufacture media that is professional, contemporary, and entertaining.
Don't let the technical skills fool you. Sure, he may be proficient in every editing software, a skilled musician, and diligent producer, but Genie is equally suited to stand in front of a camera and deliver a good time. He is currently producing a curriculum-based web series, of which he is the host. The program features original music and explores history, language arts, and sciences. His goal is that the show resonates, not only with children, but with older siblings and parents alike.
These appreciations as well as strong technical skills are what Genie brings to the proverbial table. He has an eye for detail and loves to produce content that impresses, eductates, or outright entertains you. His degree in marketing from the nation's top-ranked Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame gives Genie a solid knowledge of business practices and processes. Genie was fortunate enough to be at the #1 school studying marketing and branding during the burgeoning digital/social landscape. For this reason, he is especially adept at branding using social media. During his time at Notre Dame, he also served as Promotional Director for the campus nightclub where he lead a team of student marketers and developed nightclub events.
When asked who to compare him to, Genie retorts, "I think I'm a combination of Arsenio Hall, Conan O'Brien, LeVar Burton, and Jimmy Fallon..." Ultimately he wants to also host a late night talk show on one of the major networks in order to remind America of that inner child that resides in all of us. In the meantime, he's going to keep laughing, producing, and making magic.
